Caring for your stainless steel bathroom products

All Robert Welch bathroom products are made from 18/10 stainless steel. This is a tough and durable material which makes it ideal for use in humid environments such as the bathroom. All bathroom products are hand polished, meaning they are easy to maintain.

Caring for your toilet brush & holder

Use a microfibre cloth and everyday basic disinfectant or soap with warm water and dry immediately. To remove persistent marks, clean with a proprietary stainless steel cream cleaner (we recommend Barkeeper’s Friend) using a microfibre cloth.

Always avoid scouring your stainless steel with pads or abrasive cleaners as this will scratch the surface.

Aggressive cleaning agents can be detrimental to the surface of the polished 18/10 stainless steel.

Caring for your stainless steel bathroom fittings and accessories

Use a dry microfibre cloth (dampen for more stubborn marks) and dried immediately after cleaning.

Common marks - their causes and remedies

Water Marks

Caused by water droplets when left to dry on your stainless steel’s surface. Using a hot wash cycle as recommended above will remedy this or they can easily be removed with a microfibre cloth.

Rust

Stainless steel does not rust, but it can receive rust marks if the surface is damaged by bleach or sprays containing bleach. Thankfully, this is only aesthetic and is easily removed with a proprietary stainless steel cleaning cream (we recommend Barkeeper’s Friend). Tarnishing

Caused by detergents not being washed off correctly or from cleaners that are high in acidity/citrus. These marks can sometimes be remedied using the dishwasher instructions above, or easily removed with a proprietary stainless steel cleaning cream (we recommend Barkeeper’s Friend).
